  1. Escadaria Selarón located in the neighborhood of Lapa. This beautiful staircase art was created by Chilean artist Jorge Selarón in the year 1990. The stairs are covered in over 2,000 tiles which were collected from over 60 countries! If you want to capture great pictures with minimal crowds make sure to get there early.

2. Olympic Boulevard Murals is the vibrant work of art of Eduardo Kobra. The murals depict indigenous people from different regions of the world. The murals are located in the northern part of the city close to downtown.

3. Bairros Charmosos - Rio’s most known neighborhoods like Copacabana and Ipanema are located in Zona Sul (the south zone). However, there is a lot more to the city than the beach side towns. Make sure to make time for the city’s charming neighborhoods like Santa Teresa and Urca where you can find delicious food, art, and unique architecture.

4. Museo do Amanhã (Museum of Tomorrow) is the grand work of the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. The museum focuses on findings of contemporary sciences where visitors are encouraged to explore concepts of sustainability, over consumption, global warming, and planet Earth.
