International Women’s Day Celebration in San Francisco

Imagine a room full of inspirational, intelligent, and beautiful women, all united by their love for travel, fashion, and tech. That is precisely what happened in San Francisco at the tasty and beautiful Mexican restaurant Xica on International Women's Day.

Travel Latina partnered with five women-led brands: GreetHer, Wandering Stefany, Latinx Travel Club, CWH Group, and Maison Latam. Together, we created a unique event to encourage women's empowerment, unity, and growth.

The event was held at Levi's Plaza in San Francisco at the beautiful Mexican restaurant Xica.

Owned by head chef Maria Elena Esquivel, Xica opened its doors in March 2023. The restaurant offers delicious Mexican American dishes which are 100% gluten-free. All the plates can be made as vegetarian or vegan options. The interior of Xica will leave you feeling like you are inside a restaurant in Oaxaca or San Miguel Allende, with its eccentric murals and plants as decor. If you are ever in San Francisco, add Xica to your restaurant list.

Nosotros Tequila sponsored a tequila tasting, which included their entire line of tequila and mezcal bottles. Nosotros Tequila was founded by Costa Rican CEO Carlos Soto and is made and bottled in 100% recycled glass in Tequila, Mexico, at Destiladora Del Valle, which is female-owned and operated.

Travel Latina and our partners created this event to unite women to inspire, celebrate, and uplift one another. Our main activity of the night was giving each other roses and positive words of affirmation. It was a heart-touching moment that allowed women to connect with one another vulnerably yet empowered. Guests were invited to add more flowers to their roses to make a bouquet at the "bloom bar," sponsored by our Co-Founder, Cindy Medina.

We hope all guests enjoyed their evening and left the space feeling uplifted by everyone around them. And for those of you asking, "When will it happen again?" make sure to stay in touch across all our social media channels for future events & sign-up for Travel Latina’s newsletter!
